Lauren is a Ph.D. student in the Aceto lab. Before joining us, she worked at Arthex Biotech in Valencia, Spain developing anti-miRNA therapies for the treatment of myotonic dystrophy type 1 (DM1). Lauren holds a M.Sc. degree in Research in Molecular, Cellular and Genetics Biology from the University of Valencia, Spain. Previously, Lauren obtained her B.Sc. in Biochemistry and Biomedical Sciences from the University of Valencia, Spain while researching the involvement of Rabphilin in Drosophila nephrocytes, in order to better understand its role in human kidney diseases (see Selma-Soriano et al., Dis Model Mech., 2020).
